League Finals - Bag Tag Challenge

Postby Barry » Mon Oct 23, 2006 1:10 am

We need to hold the finals for the Bag Tag Challenge now that the State Championships are wrapped up. Let's use this message topic to coordinate things.

The proposed date is Sunday, November 5th. Please post if you can't make it (or if you can.)

The format is still open. It might be nice to play at each of the three courses. It might also be good to choose some interesting scoring system of style of play even out the chances of cashing. If you've got a suggestion, present it here.

Thanks,
-"Sensei".

I think I can do that day, although its hard to say what my workload will be like at that time.
It would be cool to play all of the courses, although that may be tough. If we can't do all three, we should at least play 9 at Palmer, and 18 at tc3.
There are some formats that would even things a bit. Like do match play, or use a Stableford-style scoring system. I also think that if we have an odd number of people playing, that the highest tag gets a bye into the next round. So, we could do three 9-hole matches, or something like that. If we do 9 hole matches, maybe we should play at one course, so we could do a number of matches in one day. We could save doing all of the courses for another day, and have a club marathon or something. Maybe we could do the final matches at the a-frame, have a little party or something.....

I say you get to carry as many discs as your bag tag #. That outta give us a shot at Honchero. maybe not :?

I can probably do either Corning or a tag event in the same weekend, but not both.

I can play on the 5th. I don't have an opinion on the format.

I agree with jon, I think it might be a bit much doing it the same weekend as the corning event. I just talked my lovely girlfriend into playing corning, so I am definitely playing that.

if it is the only good weekend, i will of course play, but i say we talk about an alternative.

I would have to agree with the pimp. I also want to go to Corning, and to commit the entire weekend at this particular time is tough. Of course, if we have to do it that day, I am in. Whatever format....I'll play with one disc, as long as everyone else does too!

I could do this weekend, October 29, but it is probably too soon to get stuff together. Pat?

I agree that the 4-5th weekend is busy. I can do both events, but I understand that many cannot.

I have a prior commitment on the 12th -- it is the second Sunday of the month. I might be able to shirk my duty if that is the day that works best for everyone else, but no guarantees.

The 19th is the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I can do that if the snow isn't too deep.

I think many people will be traveling or hosting the Sunday after Turkey Day, and then we are into December. So, those above are the 4 possible Sundays, IMHO. Who can make what?
